Teaching Young Beginners - Advancing Students!
About the Teacher... Kristin Hefner started playing the piano at 10 years old, and has studied with several teachers from 1995-2008. She has covered a wide range of repertoire and continues to study classical keyboard literature.
She has participated in the "National Federation of Music Clubs" , and in the"Annual Young Artists' Concert of Statesville", as well as in studio recitals, and was the keyboardist for the church worship team from 2003. Kristin has also directed children's choirs, and asssisted in summer music camps.
Teaching Experience... Kristin has taught piano privately since 2001. She has experience teaching Preschool through Late Intermediate students. Kristin has taught from various methods (Alfred's Basic, Bastien Piano Basics, Piano Adventures, etc.), and feels that Piano Adventures by Nancy & Randall Faber is the best piano method available today.
About Lessons... Kristin uses the very best teaching methods available, and offers students the chance to explore music to the fullest. Teacher-student duets, orchestral accompaniments, music games, great supplemental music and outstanding classical literature are a part of lessons. Students also earn stickers/candy to keep lessons exciting! Parents are always welcome to observe lessons, and their comments are always appreciated.
Performance Opportunities... Kristin realizes that a good teacher offers opportunities for the student to perform. Recitals are held to showcase each student's progress and achievement at various times throughout the year.
